Chris West is a seasoned Lead UI Software Engineer and UX Technologist with more than 23 years of experience crafting high-performance, visually consistent web experiences. His career blends a deep foundation in traditional and digital design with expertise in modern engineering frameworks like React, Next.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL.

At Under Armour, he led major performance initiatives—achieving a 60 percent improvement in Core Web Vitals and helping UA.com rank among the fastest global retail sites, while advancing the company’s design-system architecture, checkout optimization, and AI-driven localization workflows.

Previously, at Zebra Technologies, he guided a team of engineers in developing modular React applications and Electron-based desktop tools, earning patents in machine-vision software innovation.

His professional interests center on agentic AI development, design system evolution, and front-end performance engineering, with a career-long commitment to bridging UX vision and engineering execution to deliver fast, consistent, and human-centered digital products.

Chris studied computer graphics and 3D graphics programming at Syracuse University, and continues to paint (oil) and enter art shows to this day.
