Dark City - An Experiment in Palette Knife Usage

This painting was an experiment of mine not only in style, but also in content. I was recently inspired by a young artist I found on Instagram (I need to find and tag the artist) who's dramatic brush strokes really spoke to my approach. I wanted to give it somehwat of a try.

My goal for this painting was to develop imagery more with shape than with color, making violent slashes of dark lines in an almost anime-inspired look and feel.

This was actually one of the larger paintings I've ever done, it currently resides in my office, a pretty good theme for that room.

I'm hoping to continue to develop a collection of new works for a potential art show.
